Gregory M. Sleet

Gregory Moneta Sleet (born March 8, 1951 in New York, New York) is currently Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. A graduate of the Rutgers University School of Law at Camden,[1] he was appointed as a District Judge by President Bill Clinton in 1998 and became Chief Judge on the court in 2007. Previously, he served as the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware. He was the first Black American to be appointed United States Attorney in Delaware, and the first to be appointed the federal bench in Delaware.[2]

He is the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Moneta Sleet.[2]
